Welcome to our 2026/27 Season

We are delighted to present a wonderful range of plays and events for 2026/27, all at incredible prices! Our tickets remain at only £12 for high quality theatre and this includes free programmes and refreshments!

Murder is in the air with Hangmen – set in Oldham during the abolition of hanging, Edge Of Darkness – a Victorian thriller, and The Thrill Of Love – a dramatization of the story of Ruth Ellis. Laughter is well represented by Dirty Dusting – a raunchy comedy about a group of office cleaners trying to make a bit of extra money and The Kitchen Sink – a bittersweet family comedy.

Our Fun Quiz Night returns and, this season, we’re relaunching PlotFest with the chance to send in a script and to see performances of three winning newly written one-act plays.

Our plays and extra events last season were often complete sell-outs, sometimes weeks in advance, so please make sure you book early!

Our theatre is entirely run by volunteers. We are in particular need of set building and backstage helpers. Would you be interested in joining our team? If so, please come and have a chat.

A Few Words About Us

The Lyceum Theatre Oldham is a successful and award-winning amateur theatre company entering its 99th year.

The Theatre can be found on the lower ground floor of the Lyceum Building, 95 Union Street, Oldham. A varied programme of productions is presented each season in this intimate theatre space.

In 2015 the Lyceum Theatre Oldham refurbished the auditorium to provide new seating and decoration.

The Theatre has also recently refurbished the front of house and bar area. The large and comfortable bar and coffee lounge is the perfect place to enjoy refreshments before, during the interval and after the performance.
