The Thrill of Love

by Amanda Whittington

12 - 7 April 2027

On 13 July 1955, Ruth Ellis was the last woman to be hanged in Britain, for the murder of her lover.

In this 2013 play, Ruth’s crime is re-examined in the light of 1950s society and the experiences that led to her death, exploring the enigma of Ruth Ellis: a woman whose short but explosive life is still intriguing. No defence, no remorse. Who was she trying to protect?

We recommend this play is suitable for ages 14+
